Expert: Russian firms already have 60% of local IT market

MOSCOW, Oct 17 (PRIME) -- Russian companies hold more than 60% of the country’s market, IVA Technologies General Director Stanislav Iodkovsky told PRIME on Tuesday.

“The development rates of the Russian IT market enabled the local players after a swift retreat from it of the Western firms last year to gain impressive positions – they already hold over 60% of it,” Iodkovsky said.

Evolution continues and the Western firms will have only 20% of the country’s market by 2025, he added.

The expert spoke about two problems of the IT market.

“First, we should reduce our dependence on the Chinese electronics base, which replaced the Western one. We should raise manufacturing of national electronics,” Iodkovsky said.
